In vitro studies have shown that AFMK is one of the metabolites of melatonin, which can be formed through enzymatic or pseudoenzymatic and non enzymatic metabolic pathways. AFMK pretreatment significantly inhibited DNA damage. Through electron spin resonance (ESR) research, AFMK exhibits very high potential for in vitro hydroxyl radical scavenging. The IC50 value obtained from ESR analysis is 338.08 nM. AFMK is a metabolite of melatonin, a poorly studied biogenic amine. Compared with the results obtained by using gemcitabine alone, the combined use of PANC-1 and gemcitabine in AFMK inhibited the production of HSP70 and cIAP-2 [3].
