In vitro study of Tedizolid (0.25 μ G/mL) inhibited all 28 clinical isolates of PRSP, and the efficacy of billinidazole on PRSP was four times higher [1].
In vivo studies achieved 100% survival in mice infected with PSSP type III using the lowest total daily dose of 10mg/kg of tedizolid phosphate. The lungs of infected mice treated with tedizolid phosphate showed less severe inflammation and edema, as shown by the average score of inflammation and edema [1].
In order to induce systemic Streptococcus pneumoniae infection in animal experiments, male ICR mice (weighing 18 to 20g) were intraperitoneally inoculated with one of four PRSP isolates (DR9, DR10, DR11, or DR14) suspended in 10% mucin. The suspension contains sufficient bacteria to kill 100% of the untreated control mice. One hour after infection, mice received a single dose of tedizolid phosphate or linezolid, and were evaluated for survival for 7 days daily after infection. Each of four doses (40mg/kg body weight, 13.33mg/kg, 4.44mg/kg, and 1.48mg/kg) was administered orally and intravenously, with 8 mice in each group defined by dose, delivery method, and infection strain. Calculate the 50% effective dose (ED50) for each delivery route using probability unit analysis, which allows 50% survival of infected mice.
